Originally opened in 1904 as a gift to the city of Nairobi, Fairmont The Norfolk hotel now reflects its colonial history with wood panelling, plaid fabrics, and cane furniture used throughout. Getting there: Bus number 34 travels from the airport to the Nairobi city centre, and takes approximately 45 minutes. Alternatively, taxis are available from outside the airport.
Getting around: Buses are a popular form of transportation in Nairobi. A train service runs between Nairobi Station and Mombasa, and typical African game animals are often sighted during the journey. Driving after dark is not recommended in Nairobi.
